Who We Are
The Affordable Housing Alliance of Midland County (AHA) is a nonprofit organization that owns 93 rental properties in Midland County, Michigan. We rent these properties to qualified people – those who earn 30-50% of Midland’s median income – at below-market rates. We were chartered in 1995 and became a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation in 1996, with the goal of strengthening our community by helping meet the need for lower-cost housing.
Information for Applicants
There is currently a waitlist for all AHA properties, but there is no application fee, and anybody interested is encouraged to apply. For details about the properties, links to some applications and other information, visit our Rental Units page.
AHA manages 26 of our properties from our main office at 3400 Isabella St. in Midland. Housing applications for these properties are located to the left of the office door. There is also a drop box that can be used at any time for rent payments, paperwork or applications.
The rest of our properties are managed by a property management company, whose leasing office is located at 717 E Indian St. in Midland. Using this separate company allows us to best meet the needs of our tenants while staying in compliance with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA).
AHA Mission
To provide safe, affordable housing to those in need in Midland County.
AHA Vision
All Midland County residents have safe, affordable housing as they improve their quality of life
and continue to work on reaching their fullest potential.
